10 Ways To Declutter Your Mind This Spring

Similar to that burst of new year energy in January, Spring offers the perfect opportunity for a fresh start— not just for our homes, but for our minds as well. As you clear out your closets and sweep under the couch, you can also take this time to release emotional clutter and unhelpful thought patterns that are weighing you down. Think of it as spring cleaning for the soul—a chance to reset, refresh, and make space for more clarity, joy, and peace.

Make a brain dump list

One of the best ways I’ve found to create more headspace is to put everything down on paper. Set a timer for 10-15 minutes and just write freely, allowing all of the thoughts and to-do’s piling up in your mind to come tumbling out on to the page. This exercise takes away the pressure to hold everything in your mind, and seeing it all in a more tangible form on paper can make them feel much easier to tackle as well. 

Let go of the lingering to-dos

Now that you have your to-do list in front of you, which tasks have been pushed day to day, month to month, maybe even year to year? If they are not essential, make the decision right now to let them go. Savor the moment of crossing them out, erasing them, or hitting “delete.”

Do the important thing that you’ve been putting off

Now let’s talk about those items you’ve been putting off that actually are essential…Commit to completing one of those tasks this week. Make the appointment or the phone call. Fix the leaky faucet. Take the pants you’ve been tripping over to the tailor. You will feel amazing once you’ve finally done it, and your mind will feel all the clearer for it. 

Reevaluate your routines

What thoughts, habits, relationships, or commitments are draining your energy rather than uplifting you? Pay attention to patterns of self-doubt, lingering resentments, or obligations that no longer align with your values. A great exercise is to journal about what’s been feeling heavy and explore whether it’s time to let it go.

Have the difficult conversation

Unspoken tension and unresolved issues take up valuable mental space. Is there something that’s been weighing on you lately? Maybe it’s time to finally talk it through. It‘s tough to initiate a hard conversation, whether it’s setting a boundary, expressing your needs, or offering an apology, but it can also bring a sense of relief and emotional clarity.

Forgive yourself and others

Holding onto guilt or resentment only adds to mental clutter. Letting go doesn’t mean forgetting, but rather releasing the weight of past mistakes or grievances so you can move forward with a lighter heart. You could try pairing this with a breathing meditation or prayer.

Minimize the noise

We are constantly bombarded with all kinds of information and noise, which can leave you feeling mentally overwhelmed. Be intentional about giving yourself some peace and quiet from time to time, whether that means taking a social media or news break, taking a tech-free walk, or just sitting in silence for a few minutes when you wake up in the morning. 

Reassess your commitments

It’s easy to overextend ourselves, saying “yes” to things out of obligation rather than genuine desire. Take a look at your calendar and commitments. Are they in alignment with what truly matters to you? If it’s not a definite YES, give yourself permission to step back, set boundaries, and prioritize what fills your cup rather than drains it.

Declutter your digital space

Mental clutter isn’t just internal—it can also come from an overload of notifications, emails, and endless scrolling. Spring is a great time to clear out your inbox, unfollow accounts that don’t inspire you, and set boundaries around your screen time. A digital detox, even for a day, can help you feel more present and in control of your attention.

Move forward with intention

Once you’ve cleared out what no longer serves you, it’s time to be intentional about what you’re inviting in. What habits, thoughts, and relationships do you want to cultivate this season? We truly are what we consume, so set small, meaningful goals that align with the life you want to create, and remind yourself that growth happens one step at a time.

Celebrating 8 months with our little bundle of joy and I can hardly believe how fast the time is flying ✨🎀

This time two years ago I said goodbye to our first baby at 11 weeks pregnant and I’ll never forget the kindness so many of you showed me. I still have many of your messages saved and thinking of them still brings me to tears 💛

From scrapbooking, to coloring books, painting, and decoupage tools — these cozy crafts are now easily accessible and hopefully will make finding the time for creative hobbies to be a tad bit easier ☺️

I know so many people are already posting about Fall but am I the only one who is happy we still have a few more weeks of summer? ☀️ 

Since we have some time before we switch to cozy drinks, this #matchamonday is starring one of my absolute favorite combos… an iced mango matcha latte 🥭🍵

The sweet & earthy flavors work sooo well together, not to mention the layers are super pretty! 

Here’s your sign to make one

All you need is: 

✨ 1 tsp ceremonial grade matcha mixed with 1/4 cup hot water 
✨ 1 cup your choice of milk 
✨ 1/2 ripe mango mashed

Whisk the matcha and hot (not boiling) water and set aside. Mash ripe mango and add to glass. Top with ice, milk and matcha! 💛
